"The Asian Banker Financial Markets Leadership Achievement Awards" are held every three years, reviewing rigorously leadership competencies as well as honoring individual and institutional achievements in the financial markets in the APAC region. In Vietnam only a few CEOs of well-known banks have been recognized for the awards in the past. This year, HSC and Johan Nyvene are the only representatives from Vietnam and HSC is the first brokerage house in the APAC region to win these prestigious awards.
The awards were presented to Johan Nyvene by Paul Chow, former CEO of the Hong Kong Exchange, head of the awards advisory board. Also present were Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohammed, former Prime Minister of Malaysia, a leading icon in the world emerging market and other former prime ministers of the Netherlands and the Philippines.
HSC was recognized by The Asian Banker for its long term strategy of leveraging core competencies in research and technology to constantly provide value-added products, with its superior customer service centers that are pioneering and unique to Vietnam. HSC was also commended for its certification for providing online trading and brokerage services that conform to international standards by TUV Rheinland. Through two consecutive years (2012, 2013), HSC held the largest brokerage market share in both institutional and private client segments.
In the first five months of 2014, HSC’s profit before tax was estimated to reach more than VND 258 billion. The company has achieved 59% of its 2014 plan, which is an increase of 81% y/y. This was due to the positive gain from equity investment and brokerage fee revenues in the first 5 months of FY2014.
